a) because i’d like to forget that night with every fiber of my being, but i can’t…
and b) it happened right before i started using ptd.org again in 2008. (i used this image (me, during the night in question #doublefisting) as the header on the first two layouts.   the DF’ing would explain a lot of my issues that night.)

anyways.

so i had just come home from a vacation in cancun with missy the day before, and i was super amazingly psyched that the bouncing souls were playing ON my birthday.  i mean, they’ve been my favorite band since i was like 16… what are the odds!  …and after an amazing week in mehico with one of my favorite amigas???  WHAT?!  #best

no… #worst

a) first off, the souls played terminal 5. WTF? who booked that venue? we’re at a punk show for fucks sake… there are like three floors total with balcony’s wrapped all around… here…  LOOK… [visual] i thought the crowd sucked. of course i almost got into fights and steve was trying to just calm me down, but i made him leave the crowd it was “that bad”.
b) secondly, i was already drunk and then everyone kept giving me beer. which is usually not a problem, but i hadn’t eaten anything and i was two pitchers and a few shots in. i should NOT have had anymore to drink, and i definitely should not have been double fisting.
c) their set list was fucking awful.
d) it seemed like they didn’t even want to play.
e) greg (the lead singer) broke out a ukelele.
f) he insisted on playing acoustic music (which i can not stand for the most part) with the ukelele.
g) he was playing misfits covers on that ukelele.

drunk jess was NOT having it.

at first i just got pissed off and complainy, but then things took a turn for the worst… i started hysterical crying because “a-g” then all hit me at once.

i felt so let down by my favorite band and then everyone was just trying to make me feel better and i was all “STFU LEAVE ME ALONE” and no one would, lol.  everyone was treating me with kid gloves and i mean, looking back… wtf could anyone really so or do otherwise… but i was just getting uber pissed off that no one would leave me alone. i picked a fight with missy about some irrational bullshit and she up and left… i had to go home…. it was ugly.

what was the point of this?

oh right… ukelele’s fucking suck [confirmed earlier today], and should not EVER be mixed in with a punk rock show.

so after four long years (and a few re-schedule’s), missy, teena and i finally decided to have a down the hatch sunday for our labor day weekend… we got pretty toasted, ate lots of yummy wings and had many laughs… there were men with crabs scratching away (see picture below.), strangers joining our group… and a surprise visit from allison… #goodtimes

sooooooo my ex-girlfriend caryn and her friend megan picked me up – we picked up my friend pam that i haven’t seen in ages (she used to go to parties with us), we got there, got our booze on – found this young tripping balls boy named peter who followed me around for part of the party… missy and jedi showed up, javie made it with ecca – we all danced our asses off (failed at shuffling, but there wasn’t much of it…), had a blast. i was sore for like, five days. i’m sure dancing/slipping on a flyer didn’t help – but this stu landed on one knee and her hands – i was a-ok o.O …apparently i can’t dance from 9PM-3AM anymore without hurting myself though, lol. i’m so out of shape

all the dj’s were rad, funk (the dj that was the reason we went at all) went on last, and for half the set he should have because of “some kids that were smoking pot in the bathroom” …whatever, it was fun while it lasted.

so many kids on drugs! i mean, yeah when i went to parties all of my friends were on shit, but i honestly don’t remember things like this going on:

i thought it would be my last party – but we saw flyers for some hardcore parties that featured dj’s we love… just might have to….

i still have to get pics from pam and missy (although she showed me pics that night i’ve never seen from our cancun trip two years ago, lol, so i can’t really count on seeing those anytime soon), so i don’t really have many to share, but here are a few…

i want to do both of these things, this just stinks that i have to rely on stupid tylenol to make me feel okay enough to do it… it sucks. (i’m allergic to asprin so i can’t take anything else, bah.)

i hurt! i just want to stay home and watch movies/tv all day… maybe do some sidework. but i reeeeeally need a trim/cut. i don’t even remember the last time i cut my hair. it’s in dire need for it since it’s getting really long, it’s getting really heavy and the curls need some more bounce… i’m gonna cut my bangs back in again too… above my eyebrows. i haven’t done that in almost two years i think…

tonight there’s a benefit for my tattoo artist who had a liver transplant recently. they’ve been holding fundraisers to help with his hospital bills… i haven’t seen him in ages, so it’ll be nice to.

i need to get off of my booty and get some coffee too since i have this headache.

but its so……… far.

it was our friend kurt’s cousins 21st birthday so she chose that spot… hung out with ms. teena<3 drinking, dancing… the dj was playing 90′s theme songs… it was odd. had an okay time after all though… still trying to get my hands on a picture of me and some dude with his shirt tucked in/pants up to his nipples “dancing”. oh yes, one of those priceless jess photos. (i’m going straight to hell).

on sunday i went over to sophie’s to see her cousin steph’s baby<3 i haven’t seen her since she had him a few months ago… hung out with bebehhhhhhh<3 we ate some dinner, drank some sangria… just chilled out.

i did a lot of walking in the nice weather and snoozing.

very unproductive, kinda boring
…need a little spice in my life.

things i’ve gotta battle before 5PM:

• i should start the laundry. but i’m wearing a wife beater and no bra… this has seriously postponed the laundry this morning. (in case a neighbor comes down? you can see right through this thing, lol)
• i think i’m gonna go get some iced coffee. this starbucks shit in a bottle aint cuttin’ it…
• i’m hoping my rangers pin is upstairs, i can go get it after putting on a bra and going for the coffee.
• need to sit in a hot ass bath for a while, everything hurts.
• i have to figure out how i’m doing my hair for this show… not for vanity purposes, i can’t just throw all of this up as i normally do – my shit is HUGE, it’ll be in peoples way. but it’ll be too hot to have it all down – UGH! (big sexy hair at shows = a big no no.)
• i have to do my nails
• i MUST clean my stretched ear holes – ahhhhhhhh :barf: :x
• i have to somehow manage dressing/managing myself for a punk show (bagless/minimal hair) and then i’m going to a bday party at a bar most likely being very hip-hop. hmm.

friday sophie and i went to get boozed up with my friend pat, we met an awesome irish bartender who loves cancun as much as i do… it was fun and relaxing! blue moons, music… a lovely dive bar experience… slept at soph’s.

saturday sophie and i bummed around all day – talking, eating, sipping coffee, listening to music… doing much of nothing. it was lovely. we went to go see my friends band play at one of our local bars… (landing project) – - – good times.

today i attempted my first public transportation trip to my apartment from my mothers house via main street – found a bus that goes straight there – pat had to meet up with me and guide me to it, i didn’t realize where it was until i realized it was the same bus i used to take to night school in the high school days… we grabbed coffee and i went on my merry little way… got to the apt, started taking down the blue tape since the paint finally fully dried, and then missy texted me that she was going to eat near her house nearby… i went to chill out with her and her man for a bit, had some johnny rockets and hot cocoa and went back to work…

i live so close to missy now, it’s rad. i used to never really go to her house unless i was getting a ride or if i was out with her and went home with her (usually tanked, lol)… i’m sure i’ll be seeing more of her and matt now, so i’m glad i have some friends on that side of queens…

so i got ALL of my painting done. touch-ups, the closet, the random purple/black that made it over the blue painters tape… yay! although those spots are now bright white from my primer so i might have to repaint that.. ugh.

so this bus ride took me an hour both ways… no very ideal, but i have no choice… at least it’s just one long ride without transfers til main street…

glad to finally be back home, i need to shower. gonna do that, and get to sleep.

ugh i drank too much.  but i had a good time.  i got to watch head automatica next to someone awesome…

the set was ehhhh.  lots of new stuff, NOT including that new song that i know is going to be one of my favorite HA songs ever.

i had a miserable morning going home from middle village… it was FREEZING out this morning, and home seemed so far.  but i made it.  and i feel like a zombie today.

i’m gonna lay down.

the only thing i really dislike about this year was part of the summer and my birthday.
and that which followed from my actions on my birthday. (sorry homie, i love you.)
oct/nov were kind of hard but i bounced back in decemeber.

my new job $$$, my new tattoos, making new friends, going to mexico with m5, all the shows i went to,
me and m5 hanging out all the time, dunkin donuts was built on my corner (lol), intoxicated nights, the last of the mets games at shea, holiday cocktail lounge… tons of other stuff<3

my goals for 2009?
moving out, having fun, learning more for/through work and filtering out useless people and things.
and getting rid of the red base my hair has had to endure in 2008.
