it was the friday the 13th special at three king’s ($13 tattoo’s) and they were doing a special fundraiser for japan.  they were sending all of the money they made over to japan for support to the earthquake/tsunami victims.  the tattoos ended up being japanese themed this time around, and i was worried that i wasn’t going to like any of them.  (you can click and zoom in to see the entire sheet with more detail).  but i was figured the creative minds over there at three kings would come up with a great sheet, and that they did.

i ended up being stuck between the paper lantern, the fan and the origami crane.  i didn’t want another tattoo that was primarily yellow so i went against the fan and i thought that the crane was cuter than the lantern…  i thought it was going to be smaller than what it is, but i love the size of it.  and the placement as well.  my super handsome artist that did it, made it look beautiful.  it’s so much cleaner/less playful than my other tattoos.  i really like that.

i refer to it as my “mature looking tattoo”, lol.

jes and i waited last friday the 13th for like 5.5 hours and never got tattoos because of how crowded it gets over there at three kings… it sucked.  so this year we went “early” to ensure that we got some new ink. can’t wait for the next one, in stinking january, lol.

friday: sophie came over to chill with my brother and i. missy and jinni didn’t make it over for a night in… i drank a blue raspberry four loko and a heine light and i wound up in williamsburg bars with sophs and the hot boss. #rawr

saturday: i hung out with bro-bro all day since he was scheduled to leave on sunday for florida, and then i went with greek steve to see tommy play in a band he joined recently in ridgewood… but it felt like bushwick. i dunno. either way, good shit. they’re called ritz riot. saw mike tucci there. weird. we were whatever’ing so man years ago so it seems… didn’t really talk to him much, it was more like a “hey what are you doing here?” #zzz it was a horrible hipster scene… i just wanted out. i got some free graff art out of the deal, go go gadget dark cloud!

sunday: i went to get nerdy with AV at his studio about his website, and went to see mary poppins on broadway with jes… it was okay, it was a little slow in the beginning…  although it had a lot of the movie (mainly the music – but even the songs we all know were a bit different…) i think it followed a lot of the book, but i can’t say 100% because i’m still only about a quarter through it. they had great sets. i bought myself a mary poppins umbrella with the sick ass bird handle…  got jes a matching, over-sized ornament for her christmas tree next year.

among the wonderful things i got this year, these are my two favorite things.<3  my sister bought me seasons 1-4 of tales from the crypt and jes bought me the empress of the underworld by frank kozik and kidrobot.  go figure, i get two brutal/evil things for christmas and they’re my favorites, lol…

my friend dated this dude who was amazingly creative and seriously talented. and i remember thinking when they started dating that their creative flow together was amazing. in fact, ever since i met this girl… we’ve had such a good flow together, too.

when i met her,  from day one, we just clicked.  ideas flowed, we wanted to do things… this was before this cat was even in the picture. we sat there for hours chit chatting away and even though we had a website that was “coming soon” for a straight year… we launched it.

when i met jes five years ago, the whole situation was via my ex who did graff…  or at least the way that i found her, he didn’t know her personally…  anyhow, seeing and hearing about nyc writers that he liked got me into graff…  he really liked writers that used characters, like a one icon deal, like jes’s j-heart.  long story short, jes was confused with someone else that we knew with (almost) the same name and i started checking out her shit on myspace (RIP).  i was looking at all of her fills and i fell in love.  i remember one of the first pictures i ever used for a contact table – which is still one of my favorites – is why i started talking to her – it was adorable (below).  it was a collabo between her and bob will reign.

what have i been doing? i feel like i haven’t really posted here.

um. going to shows, hanging out with lauren and wilma, hanging out with jes, getting aggravated by a dude, being pleasantly surprised by another, meeting a new one, freelancing, going on a date?, going upstate a couple of times, hanging out at my moms, decorating for xmas, drinking too much coffee and booze, getting crazy on the ex, xmas shopping, crafting, cleaning, staying warm, etc.

the confusing bore that is my life… hopefully all changing soon.

jes and i trimmed my mini-tree last night…  it was either this or a 6 ft. tree, and i don’t know if i’m ready for that just yet.

also, i pictured oscar getting bored and somehow maneuvering himself into the larger one, so this’ll do until i eventually move into a larger place.

alrighty! now that it’s officially december… i’m putting x-mas website wallpapers into the random background rotation here, and going to try to get into the spirit.

i haven’t enjoyed christmas in a long time… not because of anything jess-dramatic or bad associations with anything like the rest of my wretched life… christmas eve a few years ago was when my first aunt that died was really sick with lung cancer, emphysema and a lung infection. it was also around the same time that my other aunt had to get triple-bypass surgery… traumatic stuff, man.

when i was a kid, my aunt necie (the bypass surgery aunt) always hosted christmas eve… she had the biggest tree and a big house and everyone used to come over. she is my mothers sister, one of 7 sisters and 1 brother, so you can only imagine how packed the house was with each of them there and having at least two children there with them…

anyways, the year that aunt necie had the surgery she stopped hosting christmas eve. and it was really hard for my mother, my sister and i because that’s what we did ever since i was born. now we just feel kind of lost. and it’s sad that we all still don’t gather over there, but she just doesn’t want us to. and even though aunt carol didn’t die on christmas eve or day that year, i think we all associate that with this time of year.

on friday, jes and i are going to pick up a small christmas tree for my apartment. i wasn’t moved in last year in time for one, i wasn’t actually living/sleeping here until new years day… so it’ll be my first holiday here.

she bought me my first ornament for my tree, and friday we’ll be picking up a few more. i want to put together a fun christmas play list for us to get snookered to while we eat soft baked cookies, decorate my tree and hang lights. i have been searching everywhere on the internet for that madness “our house” and jingle bells mix from the new verizon commercial – it sounds awesome! and it got me all pumped for christmas…

i’ll have to put a play list together tomorrow because on thursday… rangers vs. the islanders. and i will be there.

since the new myspace doesn’t even allow contact tables anymore, it was (even more so) pointless to have rads2.org up anymore. (my old myspace layout/contact tables website) although facebook kind of took over a while ago, it was still up just in case… now it’s just official, and this saddens me because i worked really hard for a long time on all them jammies. and a lot of cool people i’ve met online came out of making all of them… including jes.

over the weekend, my main squeeze and i went to hoboken, nj for her cousins housewarming party… her cousin had a bunch of people over and one of her friends was telling me that she was from the rockaways, but hung out on bell blvd (where i used to work for like 3 years)… and i mentioned that i had worked at cascarino’s and she said that jes’s cousin had also… and i remembered her name but i had never met her because she worked there right before i had started… so i figured it was her but i wasn’t sure…

soon as i found her, i asked and sho’ nuff it was! what a fucking small world. the year after starting to work at casci’s in bayside is when i met jes to begin with. so weird.

i can’t believe that was five years ago already, time flies!

…i didn’t know i was going to be on the show with jes, i thought it was just gonna be her being interviewed while sheena and i were just chillin’ out watching… but we got in on it toughlove team styles<3 spoke our minds, sheena and i got way too many laughs in and jes made me laugh with her spitfire self. ♥

really boggles me sometimes…  i will not rant or sit here confused, must send negative energy elsewhere… i don’t need anymore bad karma…

but i DO need a huge turnaround… i also need a hot italian boyfriend with a huge wang and a love for (and non-allergy to) cats… i need a raise… a bigger apartment and a new ‘do….

i feel like i’m starting to miss the ‘burbs…

friday night… i had a drinks “date”… last year was when this whole thing started with this guy… he’s in a band and shares space with  my co-worker will, so will was the go-between guy for a while until i got his number… but he went off to record, i just assumed it wasn’t in my best interest so i put it off for a while, and then i lost his phone number my my iphone got stuck in recovery and i lost all of my contacts… he always just floated around in the back of my mind, so i figured why not? i’m not over-thinking things – not hoping for anything… not even sure i’m interested in anything especially seeing as what just went down with manny… just thought i’d regret it if i never did, so i did. and it went wayyyy better than expected…

i took him to holiday cocktail lounge, and he was glad that i chose that spot… he said he’d never been in there before… i told him why sophie and i started going and whatever he thought it was cool, we shot the shit for a bit… i wasn’t nervous at all and we seemed to hit it off… lots of laughing, convo was never awkward or silent and we were really comfortable with each other being touchy… (just while we were talking – on legs, arms, hands?) – he was really sweet and didn’t try to make a move on me, he just hugged me and asked me out to a movie this week. now let’s just see if he pulls through. that would be rather rad.

saturday i hung out with my love jes all day<3  and i ended up going out with her at night time…  we went to some sport’s bar in astoria (that sucked) for her friends birthday and i wound up bumping into this kid brian i used to work with at the video store…  who i would have LOVED to avoid for the rest of my days, but he insisted on coming up to me with a sarcastic “are you gonna say hi, or what”, so whatever.

friday was the friday the 13th special at three kings, but unfortunately it was too busy for us to get tatted up…  i got out of work at 4, but apparently that still wasn’t early enough.  i went home to shower quickly and steve picked me up and then we scooped up jes and co. and shuffled over there…

we waited for four stinkin’ hours and never got in for our ink – but we all had a really good time either way, just laughin’ it up together for a while…  and it wasn’t so nasty hot out either…  the only unbearable thing was that i had to pee the entire time…  ugh, now the next friday the 13th won’t be until next may…  guess next time i’m going to take the day off instead of leaving “early”…  i really wanted this tattoo, man…  it was a pair of hands, cut at the wrist with blood dripping holding up the middle finger for the 1 and three fingers on the other hand for the 3 to make the 13…  it would have looked so cute next to my misfits skull…

my favorite homegirl and i met up for a wonderful day of bk escapades! …i needed to hit up the bk heights ricky’s for hair dye and i thought going from dumbo to brooklyn heights would be a nice day trip…

i work between the manhattan and brooklyn bridges, if you didn’t know… it’s gorgeous down there in the park, so i figured it’d be a good place to just chill out for a while… it was a gorgeous spring day out today, glad we got to enjoy it before we start sweating our nyc balls off…

we got some starbucks, walked around dumbo for a few, and then we went to brooklyn bridge park… chilled out for a while, were talking… TLNYC CREATIVE BRAINSTORMING… and as jes took this picture on the left (dont mind my fat arm? lol), one of my bosses walked over to say hi, lol… we got to see his son charlie and his wife, we chatted for a few and then they went to a birthday party in the park. it’s funny i bumped into him, i’m usually never in dumbo on the weekends since i frequent it so often during the week

so we sat there for a while shooting-the-shit, and then decided to hike up to the heights… here are some pics i took

thursday COME OUT FOR AN ILL BANGER EVENING NYC! it’s my lovie doo jes’s birthday (we celebratin’ toughlovenyc! stylez<3)

sorry about the lack of posts… i get blocked sometimes. life has had some twists and turns in the last two weeks that have left me feeling loopy… i’ve become disappointed, excited, annoyed, nervous, confident… all mixed up, don’t know what to do.

friday night i had an escape from it all… i went to go see the bouncing souls at webster hall (left). i went with steve and a few of his friends that i’ve been acquainted with before (on more than one occasion-they’re just more his friends than mine…). so we had some drinks, caught a buzz and went into the crowd… the set list was okay, no great songs they never play though, but i danced my little ass off and had a lot of fun. one of the better shows i’ve been to in the last two years, i must say.

on saturday afternoon, jen brought her little dog jackson over to meet oscar but oscar wasn’t havin’ it… the attempts were cute though… we made an exquisite, “adult” salad (as jen puts it, lol) and she read my tarot cards… which were kinda on the money. the reading (of course referring to my love life, lol) made me cry, and also gave me positive vibes… at night my friend matt was showcased at a gallery in williamsburg and i went down there to support/enjoy. i met up with jes and her main squeeze KA and my boy george also rolled through… we did a walk-through, chatted it up outside and got our drink on until everyone departed because of the lack of booze at the gallery… so we all went to some bar near where we were and hung out for a bit. george left and we went to hope lounge which SUCKED. the music was horrible and it was filled with vinny mozzarella’s (lol) so we went to the diner and got our eat on.

sunday was supposed to consist of: rox, missy, jen, booze, sun and girl talk… but in actuality, it wound up being: jen, jackie, drizzle, booze, and san loco instead… which turned out to be a fabulous time!<3 …my lazy ass got up way too late to make a free show to see girl talk in the hip(w)-burg (barf!) – so we wound up chillin’ instead… jen slept over and we had a temporary tattoo, bed cuddling, fun time – so all in all, a fun weekend – woo!

…the day that jen and i have been IMPATIENTLY waiting for has finally arrived. oh yes. drum roll please…

hellllll yes! (no, i’m not kidding!!!) haha, i find it so funny i actually found another person in their 20′s that loves degrassi as much as me<3 i could only force my ex's to watch it with me before that... give it a whirl if you never have! ...shit gets deep. a friday night sleepover - what fun! i feel like a teenager again, lol! friday night, degrassi, pajama's, popcorn, (hopefully BEER and/or malibu/juice), PUFFY PILLOW SHARING CUDDLE SESHHHH! okay, i'll stop.

my favorite little inspiration in the world came over tonight ja-ja-ja-JESS!<3! i really love seeing her... we give each other such good ideas about so many things... talks, laughs, brain stormin', and we gave her website a bit of a face lift tonight... she recently put out her "classy criminals" > black on white tshirt – better get one before they’re gone!

iiiiiiiiii can’t believe tomorrow is friday already, my week has flown by!  and thank god, because i’m exhausted.  can’t wait to attempt this whole “sleeping in” thing, again.

so this week.  what’d i do?

tonight i went to erica’s.  i always get there by means of the LIRR.  i feel like such a freak on the LIRR.  everyone’s coming home from their hard day at work in their suits, all playing with their mobile devices – calling their wives or husbands, sipping their vodka or beers, getting ready for their ride to their comfy long island homes…  and they all seem to stare at the weird girl with the multi-colour hair and nose ring…  so i usually put the nose ring up inside so it’s not visible…  but i still get all those ??? looks from the old men and women…  or the young guys my age who seem to simply be on a different path in life, whatever.  i don’t know why it even bothers me…  i’m more of a lovely human being than the people with their shit together it seems…

i don’t think i push my homie enough, and i don’t think i’ve ever done it here…

one of the best things to come out of myspace is my friendship i started up with jes… from the moment we sat down in her apartment and started running our creative ideas off of each other, we’ve been quite a creative duo.  i built her website for her finally after like two years of us going back and forth about it, and i’m so happy that she’s benefiting from her ideas.  she’s such an INSPIRATION…  full of ORIGINAL ideas, and we make each others light bulbs turn on.  lol.  that’s why i appreciate having her in mi vida loca so much<3 xoxo
