i finally launched my home girls’ website<3
go show my favorite (scattered) aussie chicks some love!
the lady that lives upstairs from me had bypass surgery done years ago, and her legs are bad. in fact, she uses a cane for everyday walking and on tuesday, the poor thing fell down because of messed up concrete/ice. it was so bad that she had to be taken to the hospital 
she pulled her groin muscle in her left leg and bruised her tailbone… so she can’t walk or stand at all… she called me at around 5 on tuesday to ask me if i could fill her prescription when i got home. i don’t think she has many people around here, and i think it’s easiest for me to be helping her because i’m right downstairs… at any rate, since tuesday, i’ve been taking care of her in the morning before work and at night when i get home… and it’s been really tiring. i feel like i sound like an old fart, but coming home and doing that eats up a lot of free time. it’s also been cutting into my own daily chores, errands and freelancing. i can’t wait to catch up again this next coming week…
and catch up on my poor, neglected website.<3
what have i been doing? i feel like i haven’t really posted here.
um. going to shows, hanging out with lauren and wilma, hanging out with jes, getting aggravated by a dude, being pleasantly surprised by another, meeting a new one, freelancing, going on a date?, going upstate a couple of times, hanging out at my moms, decorating for xmas, drinking too much coffee and booze, getting crazy on the ex, xmas shopping, crafting, cleaning, staying warm, etc.
the confusing bore that is my life… hopefully all changing soon.
…i didn’t know i was going to be on the show with jes, i thought it was just gonna be her being interviewed while sheena and i were just chillin’ out watching… but we got in on it toughlove team styles<3 spoke our minds, sheena and i got way too many laughs in and jes made me laugh with her spitfire self. ♥
okay so sorry i’ve been so anti-posting lately… i had a lot of shit on my plate… i was working on this layout for a while and didn’t really want to post before i put it up… which took longer than expected… and thank you IE8 for not showing the fucking scrollbar… (how the fuck does it work properly in IE7 but not 8??? #BAFFLED #nerdtalk) i was also getting all of the websites that i host off of my old hosting account and onto the new one.
speaking of #nerdtalk… if any of you are looking into website hosting companies, please refrain from using hostmonster.com – they’re horrible… this post will be all nerdy talk after the jump. if you are interesting in hosting stuff, lol…

i want and need coffee.
this is what my saturday night will consist of (because i slept through the entire day):

friday was the friday the 13th special at three kings, but unfortunately it was too busy for us to get tatted up… i got out of work at 4, but apparently that still wasn’t early enough. i went home to shower quickly and steve picked me up and then we scooped up jes and co. and shuffled over there…
we waited for four stinkin’ hours and never got in for our ink – but we all had a really good time either way, just laughin’ it up together for a while… and it wasn’t so nasty hot out either… the only unbearable thing was that i had to pee the entire time… ugh, now the next friday the 13th won’t be until next may… guess next time i’m going to take the day off instead of leaving “early”… i really wanted this tattoo, man… it was a pair of hands, cut at the wrist with blood dripping holding up the middle finger for the 1 and three fingers on the other hand for the 3 to make the 13… it would have looked so cute next to my misfits skull…
my monitor at home went kaput! and my computer is from like 2006? it was on the way out, so i ordered a new computer but it’s not shipping out until the 17th

so yeah, i haven’t been and won’t be posting much until then. i really don’t like using my website here at work. i don’t stray far from what i’m actually supposed to do… aside from le twitter – because it’s docked in my firefox status bar (all day/erryday) – i have good work ethic!
i bought this little jammy (in the dark orange colour):
yeah, it’s a dell… but i had credit with them, so i went with them again. the specs seem awesome and it’s small and cute… i wanted to get two monitors but went with a 24″ instead… i read good reviews about it so far… my boss called it “the pretty computer” as opposed to the fast beast he was trying to build for me, lol. i think it suits its purpose here, i didnt need anything too crazy.
i’m such a sucker for cute shit… too bad they got rid of the wood paneled one that i really wanted

i’m organizing all of my old bookmarks from the last 5/6 years that have been hanging out in the “imported from IE” section – been dreading it… so much to sift through… and there are so many websites that don’t exist anymore and it’s so fun to see who is still around and how they’ve changed. there is a website that i listed my blog on years ago – a NYC directory… i think it’s one of the cutest ideas ever… the people that run it haven’t updated it since ’05 or ’06 (honestly why i’d like to take over). they’re also not answering emails. (well, the two that i’ve sent over the last year…)

so here are a few things i found in a folder on my computer tonight… i had been messing around with this stuff in photoshop and they were either unused, unfinished or on my (private) myspace profile… (so i’m assuming most of you haven’t seen these things…)

it’s very hard to get the ball rolling when my clients aren’t answering direct questions or sending me materials.
i want these six projects up on out of my way so i can get paid and enjoy spring life.

so i don’t even remember how, but somehow last year i found/met eric via twitter… quite often, i favorite a lot of his tumblr photo posts via my we <3 it account. while browsing one day, i saw he created an iphone wallpaper and it got the idea flowing to get a side project kind of like rads2.org going again for just that… iphone wallpapers!
between him and i, there will be quite the assortment. i like how it won’t be limited to things i’m mostly interested in so that they’ll appeal to many. so yeah, he’s down for it… so it’ll be in the works shortly.
keep your eyes peeled.
i think i might base a lot of them from contact tables that i had on rads2.org, but i have a shit ton more that will produce fresh ones, too.

four or five years ago, i used to take my ex’s beautiful/decay magazines and dissect the shit out of them… all the graff, art, style stuff – i owe a lot to that magazine. (so do my walls, covered in pieces of the old issues…)
anyways, i stumbled upon a designer named jules kim of bijules (jewelry). i remember when she had a minimal, side scrolling website design – it caught my eye. and so did her jewelry… (always too expensive to throw down for a piece, but still a fan.) and i always kept in the back of my mind this one series of rings she had… and today i FINALLY sat down and attempted my own version of these old school jammies…
…brings me back to my JHS days of hot 97, air jordan xi’s, tommy hil logo tee’s, columbia jackets, jansports with white out paws up the straps, beepers and hanging out with all the cool spanish chicks… we used to make these during class
so today was the first part of our office’s move. pictured above, lol, will show our office on the left (now) and where we will be situated tomorrow (right). yeah, 5th floor. both corner offices, across from each other, lol.
i don’t know how the hell i used to dye all of my hair black… this shit was damn tedious and i only did the left side of my head… i have way too much hair… i had to part that in two and do it piece by piece… i dyed half of my bangs purple again. i always forget i get tired of the teal colour very quickly…

for some odd reason i’m almost the most creative between midnight and four a.m. – such a little night owl… i think i’m going to start concentrating on s2udio.com again… i’ve had the poor thing on the back burner for ages and now that i’ve got spare time, i am going to get myself organized – gonna get creative and make some $$$
i was going through old layouts and unused ideas last night. (folders upon folders of potential stuff!) i could totally turn them into usable web layouts/templates for future customers.
about to get on that.
and i love looking at what i used to do, it’s so inspring…
back in the day – it was a big thing for us e/n websites to sit down and come up with a great website layout. (before all you “bloggers” and “tumblrs”, we actually designed and hand-coded our daily updated websites)… not saying everyone doesn’t, but it was just different then… i put a lot into them to make them super creative and unique – and i miss being like that.
i think that’s why i made the “i’m single” and “stujessica” pages the way that they are… that’s the first time i’ve done something remotely close to what i used to in about 3 years, and i like it.
i’m going to be integrating that with what i know now, take over a couple of websites. spawn off a few more…
spring is coming, so are good feelings.
so the only two things i didn’t do yesterday were doing my nails (which i did halfway this morning – still need painting) and successfully obtaining my pin… otherwise i was super productive!
…the show was a great time, an amazing set… i bumped into a bunch of friends at the show… hung out at the onlyones merch booth for a while, found my friend angela randomly (again), hung out with her and steve until h2o came on… they played so well, such good energy… they had that PMA!
the lead singer (toby) was talking about the first place they ever played a show as h2o being on bell blvd in bayside, queens (where i’m from!) – and steve and i looked at each other with excitement and confusion when we realized he meant the voo doo lounge. (it was a venue in our hood back in the day, which doesn’t exist anymore…) we used to talk about how it would be so cool if it were still there now… there are so many queens hardcore/punk kids, it would be great to have a venue for shows that wasn’t just for local bands… oh well.
ha! i found out last night my friends mother used to own it – NUTSO! small world.

i did the nails first, which prevented me from doing the majority of the other tasks. although, there was no good reason why i didn’t actually have a dance party.

…my ikea adventure today took place in the red hook, brooklyn store instead of my usual hicksville, long island trip… it seemed larger than the LI one… super crowded. here’s my walk-through experience.
get upstairs, looking for mattresses. walking down normal sized aisle, chick in uggs/furry vest/hair did comes walking up with hand up in the air like she’s a model… hits my shoulder/chest while i am clearly not in her way… it took a lot to not attack her physically. instead, i turn around and say “this is ikea not a fucking runway…” my sisters boyfriend laughed and then we just totally made fun of her (and her walk).
i totally behaved myself. i only got three of those little plastic box sets, tested out some mattresses and picked up the aisle/bin of the bed i went there for… totally skipped over the market place. (go jess!)
load up the furniture cart, going to pay, some lady and her cart crash into the side of one of my boxes. rips it open, but the bed was in tact. :whew: we decide on line that we want frozen yogurt and drinks… so my sister and i leave her boyfriend near the exit elevators and buy the stuff and get online to leave.
at this ikea, you have to exit back down to the parking lot in elevators, but as we were leaving, we were being stopped for our receipt (which i had just put into my bag). my hands were full, holding my soda and frozen yogurt and i realized i had to put something down to free a hand. so i was standing in front of a garbage can while this was happening, and without thinking – i toss my new frozen yogurt. only hit my tongue like four times. WORST.
my sister and her boyfriend are almost peeing in their pants because i’m an idiot, and the lady checking the receipts figures out whats going on, realizes she can relate and goes “i’m a pot head. and one time, i dropped all my weed right into the toilet! and it wasn’t in baggies either. straight up weed, broken up. mannn i was TIGHT that day.” lol.
and then we left.
and now i have a new bed at my apt waiting for me<3
i felt odd.
so i was organizing a shit ton of pictures in my iphone and then it carried over to general computer picture organization tonight, and i found these<3… these are some olddddd layouts from stujessica.net days, the short lived apt5f.com days and when posed-to-death.org first started.
i think every one of these layouts is from 2005 or prior.
all hand coded. pfffft
i was notorious for nintendo layouts back then… i should post the others someday (kung fu, underwater mario scene…)
