it hurt to pull myself away from the television today, for normal, social activities.

since i’m new to netflix, i’m about to see if it’s there. if not, i’ve noticed it on two channels…  i was watching it on IFC today…

i’m assuming it’s one of those cult followed shows…. and i’ve totally been sucked in.

i got some new ink on the left arm while i was in salt lake citayyyy… (yes, i realize that i need a better picture of her/it…)

at any rate… i was thinking tonight…  i haven’t seen them live since i saw them on the warped tour line-up in either 1997 or 1998. (actually, it was 1998… it was also the last year that they have played the warped tour (boo to that! stupid bands that are on the lineup now :stomp stomp stomp:) – that info was via wikipedia.)

i want to see them again, and what do ya know? i just found some tickets on stubhub for next month, hmmmmmmmm….
i might just have to.

after work tonight, i was walking home and came across this hair salon that i see all the time – it’s always closed because i get home too late – but tonight it was open.  so i said “fuck it” and went in for a bang trim.  this way i can enjoy having my bangs again for a bit, until the humidity and summer heat kicks in…

anyways, i decided to straighten my hair tonight and remembered that my sister gave me a shit ton of hair stuff for straight hair recently.  most of being “got2b” products…  on a side note, i really love their stuff.  i’ve been using a lot of their products for years.  i love their gel and their pomade, so whatever – i decided to use whatever my sister had given me for the straight hair…  i used this “guardian angel” heat protecting spray and as soon as i started spraying my damp hair i was instantly excited!  it smells like my faaaaaaaaaaaaavorite smelling hair shampoo/conditioner line from the 90′s (revlon’s “outrageous” line #UNF)

i lovedddddddddd that smell so much growing up.  i used it a lot in junior high school days.  …i thought they had discontinued it, but when i googled it, it came up with results in a newly shaped bottle.

anyways, i figured i’d share in case anyone loved it as much as i did.

omfg – this is gonna be me and jes in the year 2050!

so a few of my friends and i went to the ranger game thursday night…  i was meeting up with ricky at what i thought was the chase at the front of madison square garden, but he was elsewhere.  so i heard my name being called, and when i looked up, i found my homegirl lauren waiting for her sister.  she was sitting on the wall staying off of her feet because she has a fractured heel, and we chatted it up until ricky found us.  her sister happened to walk up at the same time so we headed inside.

so since lauren was injured, wearing a boot and on crutches, she got to take the elevator upstairs into the garden instead of taking the escalators. since we were all sitting in the 300′s, we went up together…  so after waiting what seemed like forever, all four of us joined the elevator worker and were on our way until we stopped for a pick-up.  the elevator dude poked his head out and asked if all four of us minded waiting for “mr. messier”, and we were all like “yeah okay”, lol.  we were all thinking he was kidding, and two minutes later he boarded the elevator!

we weren’t really star-struck, it was more just like disbelief because were all thinking that the elevator guy was just joking…  lol, he got on with a huge smile and chit chatted with us.  i don’t remember wtf i said to him, i just remember staring into his face like “IS THIS REAL LIFE???” – something along the lines of “good and hello” or some other non-important bs… lauren told him about how she injured herself up in boston after the game a couple of weeks ago and her sister chatted with him too. i don’t remember if ricky said anything, but i remember him just looking at him in awe… it was cute, lol.

we were all so out of it that we completely forgot to ask for a photo but whatever, it was the highlight of our night since the rangers lost HORRIBLY…

we’ve gotta pray for a miracle this weekend… hitting OT in the next game and a hurricanes loss would do the trick. everyone keep your fingers crossed for me

i hate facing this heartbreak… last years loss to the flyers at the end of the year was disgusting. poor erica and i were crying silently on the living room floor in the dark

i’m going to try my hardest, if i ever have children, to make them hockey kids.  if not players, simply huge hockey fans.  so i’m keeping my heart open for a ranger fan dude so that i can have a little ranger fan family #cutenessoverload

anyways, i’ve decided the first halloween, since the kid would be a stride-less blob, he or she could be a hockey puck…  and then for the next one, a goalie.

he just pooted when i went to go hug him on my bed.  i put my arm around him for a hug while he was sitting up a little, and totally smelled it and he got all embarrassed and pissed off.  he immediately jumped off the bed and is staring at me with the death stare.

i’ve also been realizing as i get older that NYC is really fucking tiny. and the older i get, the closer the social circles are linked.

the bouncing souls are (or were?) touring new zealand and australia… they tweeted something about pictures earlier today, and it got me thinking about how appreciative i am that i get to see them as many times as i do in a year. and it’s just because i live here in NYC… man, i can’t imagine only seeing them once a year or especially every few years…  i’d go nuts! i go almost every show that they play in NYC for a bunch of reasons…

a) it never gets boring, they’re super fun
b) they’re getting older
c) i’m getting older
d) sweating it up and dancing in their crowd is one of my favorite things in life
